I'm curious about this also. I like the specs of the unit but am a little curious about the height it is required to be hung to achieve that coverage. Has there been any information released in regards to height? |

It's says they cover a 24"x24" area, but that mount mounts them to close together for two to cover a 48" length. If the spread is 1' off all sides then the clusters need to be 2' apart when mounted. They look more like they're 1' apart.

24"x24" coverage can be easily had by mounting the light within 8" from the surface of the tank. The spread of the Radion is unmatched and a real asset to its platform.
Sorry I've been sparse on info guys, it's been a VERY busy few months and we're all at MACNA right now.

Exciting news. Looks like I'd have to get at least 3 of these for a 6' 180 gallon tank.

Where did I say salt evaporates? This is a saltwater environment and something place 8" away from saltwater is going to get salt on it.
Why does no-one reads what's written and stop assuming things? Last edited by ganjero; 09/11/2011 at 09:02 AM. |

I would like to know how salt or water is going to get to that USB port if it is 8" or more away? A fish might splash every once in a while but I wouldn't worry about it. I am also pretty sure you can go buy a USB cover that will cover it nicely.

Salt must be present in the air for the fan to "suck" it in, correct?

I have a powermodule mounted 8" above the water line. After about a week the bottom of the powermodule is covered in salt splash from the Vortech generated surface water movement.

When using fans on a led units will it not cause the unit to rust inside.
With a salt environment it does cause issues with hardware . |

Just a thought. You have the Vortechs too high in the tank if they cause that kind of splashing.

one good thing about having the fan underneath, less dust.

Is the Radion compatible with Profilux controller?
