Adding soft coral soon.
My tank is a 90 gallon.. going to slowly start adding soft corals only.
How long do you guys have your lights on for soft corals? I understand they are easiest to maintain compared to SPS/LPS. |

Six to eight hours a day should be fine. You'll just have to see how the corals respond and go from there.

Yep.. thats basically "minimum"... (or should I say all they need)
Many run more than that though so they can enjoy the tank throughout the day.. I think mine run for 11-12 hours or so...

Nothing...
I have had numerous types of corals for 15 some years now and other than one trial of a few products once I have never fed them anything.. Many people do.. some believe they have seen a benefit from doing so.. My experience (as limited as it may be) said it didn't show any improvement.. I've tried "reef roids" for a bit and some Red Sea aminos products.. Neither gave me any benefits that I could tell..

light
Disregarding a couple hours at dusk and dawn of moon lights only, lights turn on at 6, ramp up to a 1.5hr peak starting at 12, and ramp down to moonlights only by 7:30.

8-9 is just fine, I use it for all types in my mixed reef.
You need to balance the corals need for light versus nuisance algaes need, to much and hello algae...too little and corals look unhappy....start low and bump up a bit until algae shows itself then back off a bit.....takes a bit of work but you'll find the balane |
