From my reading around of the 6xsunpower units the 24w unit and 39w units have around the same level of PAR. Our tanks will be similar and I look forward to seeing how they come out. I KNOW your tanks are always beautiful, but at least I can try to replicate your results with similar equipment.
Hi,

No, in real life is more white. I will try to adjust the camera next time

Show us your tank when is ready and running

Best Regards

Many thanks for posting the photos above. I have a few questions:

1. In the photo below, can you explain how this overflow/return works? Looks like magic to me lol

That is a great idea, using the shelf to hold the top off water.

This is goin going to be a really nice setup!

Hi,

Here is the idea. I took this pic before glue the last glass.

The thin glass around is only 4mm, and the hole that you can see ( the arrow ) has 4mm x 100 mm , this little hole is bigger than a pipe of 1/2" and is plenty to my overflow. We are using this kind of overflow for years, so far so good.

After that you just have to glue the little magical box bellow the main display

Best regards

I'm still too dumb to understand the overflow, but I'll be watching as it develops. I love this kind of thing!

Nice tank you have. Ok in South Africa we use the same slim overflows as yours. We also have the returns built next to the overflow so no pipes you see. The glass is tinted so you dont see anything. Check out sareefkeeping.com

well to me if you look at the far left you see wa looks like the silicone which looks thicker.... i believe there is a very thin false wall there that will eventually hit the little magical box which i believe is why the magic box sticks out a bit at the bottom of the stand correct me if im wrong but its what i think is going on with this magic trick haha

AWESOME setup man, i love the tanka bove the sump, initially i though it was going to be a fuge but then i saw that its going to be a fresh water top off tank. Maybe i was too tired when i read it though.... I have always wanted to do that in all my tanks but i tend to overbuild teh sump and making a huge stand inside the stand never became a real option for me haha. That and i usually got real lazy once the stand was built and everything layed out! but hopefully this time i can get ir done ..

Thanks for sharing!

For those trying to figure out this overflow.

Imagine 2 glasses panels, face to face, with 4 millimeter between them, this is how it works, watter will fall through the glasses, everything else will not. That's it.

click here to see a closer view and better understand it. On this case there is a backup overflow just behind.

Hey bro are you going to top off to the sump from the little tank on the right? If so you have to be careful for siphoning. The siphon will not break unless your water release point in higher than the water level in the reservoir. I think you know this though. Just making sure.

Awesome build!

Hi,

Yes, the little tank on the right is for top off.

The top off will be by gravity. I´m going to use a float. I used this kind of top off in all my last tanks

Best Regards
