Stand Building - Tools
Long hiatus from the reefing community
Wife and I are getting the itch again.. In your opinion, what are the minimal tools needed to build a decent looking stand? - Sliding Miter saw - Plunge router - Kreg tool - Cordless drill - Framing/speed square - Clamps |

You could do without the plunge router and replace the miter saw with a circular saw.

Made this one also.
Get creative. I made a jig for the slats you see on the doors. They're made of plastic base molding. I set the tank on a piece of plywood and traced it to make sure it was perfect and used it as a template when building.

I have used a framing square, tape measure, 12v Cordless Drill and Circular Saw (attachment) and built solid oak stands for tanks up to 300 gallons as nice as he one Misled posted in the first pic inside an apartment. Now that being said....the things I could have done if I had a garage and a few more tools to work with!
