Thanks , i found it hard to make the rockscape look good from more than one side...and since it is a peninsula style tank that has 3.5 sides showing it made it really tricky.
I tried to shoot for light and airy....I also tried to incorporate a large cove area and four separate "tree" like structures.

What pump are you using to get the water back through that 75ft span of PVC?

I'm gonna use something easy/cheap to use and change out if needed like a fluval SP6 and use two of them to send water back via 1.5" pvc lines

These are the pipes connecting the end of the tank to the pipes going into the ground

Beautiful tank and rock work - I am upgrading the tank as well and my tank will be built onsite - 90" x 60" 32" high = 3/4" thick glass tempered, I am planning on using steel bracing on the top and bottom. what type of steel is it on your tank? Is it 316 steel or regular steel L shape with powder coating??

My guess is that it's regular stainless steel and it has a white semigloss powder coating on top

6- MP60s quiet drive
2- MP40s quiet drive

Do you guys think that it's all of them a place like this on one end of the tank that it will generate enough flow for a 9 foot long 675 gallon tank?

I tried to make sure the rock work is not blocking the powerheads but I realize that overtime the coral can grow into the way of the flow. But for now I wonder if I can keep all of the flow on one end of the peninsula.

I'm thinking you should have some at both ends if possible just to give an alternating current, would be more dispersed as well, with them all at one end you will get a huge blast at one end and almost nothing at the other.

I guess the other end is going to be for viewing purposes though which makes it awkward to put pumps there.

I'm debating using 3x Gyre 280s (because I already have them ready in the box )which would produce 6,000 GPH x 3 = 18,000 GPH .... The only problem is the aesthetics I was just hoping to keep a clean look.

I agree on the clean look. I think the best way to keep it clean is having a closed loop with on the bottom. Then hiding as much of the nozzles with rock as possible.

I like your aquascape. So many look good from one side but are flat or 1D on all others. Well done

I try to stay away from using a closed loop system because I wanted to avoid drilling unnecessary holes into the tank but I guess I have a limitations with my flow options

You could run a closed loop and run the pipe under the brace bars and down the corners, not really optimal, but at least no need to drill holes with that.

Or even run the pipe under the sand bed.

I knew a guy that did that, but he ran a bare bottom tank.

If the tank will be built in, I would consider running a return across the top to the far side.

675 gallon glass display / 1,100 + gallon system in LA

This is the canopy places upside down, it is pretty much a white 3/4" acrylic tank that was built and then we added some bracing.

This canopy is 8'x4'x9" and will be hung above the tank.

Inside the canopy are 15 x Gen 3 & 4 Radions on rails so they can be slid back and forth. Also the lights on the two side rails were installed at a slight angle to concentrate the light toward the middle!

Thanks to Aquarium city for installing the lights onto the acrylic canopy!

Love your build so far the rock scape looks awesome. And I think you have more money in your lighting then I will have in my whole tank build, can't wait to see what's next.

That's a great idea to use an all acrylic canopy! Who did you have fabricate that for you? Was that someone in the aquarium industry or an independent acrylic fabricator?

also following along with your gyre dilemma. I would wait and see what that wall of vortechs will do. To me that looks like it will get the water moving really well.

Now we are working on plumbing in the fish room and the UV sterilizer and chiller...
