Sicca psk2500 skimmer pump in reverse?

I have a reef octopus extreme 160 which I unplugged to clean and when I plugged it back in it no longer works and appears to be flowing water out the wrong way. I didn't clean the pump out so i did hoping that would help but still is running same way, anyone hear of this?

I had problems ( with the psk 2500 ) so many times that when I heard there was a better pump, the psk 1000, I switched.

Yes, the Sicce PSK 2500 is notorious for staring in reverse. Just unplug and replug and it'll spin forward eventually.

I have tried a few times re plugging it in but I will try doing it a couple more times. It is 5 yrs old and never had this issue. I didn't know the psk 1000 is considered better but I will look into it. I love that skimmer which has been awesome so if replugging doesn't work i will look into a replacement like the 1000. I do have a mesh replacement for the needle pinwheel which I could try but it seems like the motor problem if this is a known issue.
