Tigertail Sea Cucumber Help

I have a pretty good sized (6-8") sea cucumber in my 60 gallon tank and I am in the middle of moving everything over to a new 120G. The new tank has coarser reef flakes Aragonite sand (coarser than my 60G sand). I was wondering if this would be OK for the cucumber? Also, will it be OK for a little while until more "food" builds up?

Not sure as I cannot see the sand, however I errored on the side of caution with mine and when I transferred, I gave him to my buddy to use in his tank. Sure enough he split twice and I got my buddy (or a clone) back a year later.

Better to borrow him if you can to a friend and then get him back instead of risking him starving to death and possibly fouling your tank up.

Thanks! Here's a pic of the sand graininess (Tropic Eden Mesoflakes):

If you went with an entirely new sand bed then the cucumber will starve no matter the size of the sand.

I have similarly size sand but an older tank (8 months). Is it suitable for a sand-sifting cuke?

PS hope the pic isn't huge I'm in TapaTalk

farfromsea I have always used q combination of different sizes of sand in my tanks and that does include the sand size you have. Honestly your sand looks fairly clean and other information is really needed before one can give an opinion on a cuc. Like tank size, amount of livestock, any sand sifting fish?

Sorry OP I hijacked this.

55g cube My sand is brown and hideous on top. Just have nassarius snails x3, turbo snail, one fighting conch (who despite his reputation as a sand sifter spends most of his time on the glass). Fish=3 mollies. (Yes the tank is 8 months old without real fish lol)

Anticipated fish: jawfish pair and I don't have plans for anything else for a long time
