Using Vortech MP10 as slave with MP40
Hi,
I have a Red Sea Max E 260 tank (69g) and I put my old MP10 on it. I am seeing that its not doing much in the tank so I am going to pick up the MP40 later today. Since this is my only tank and I already spent $300 on the MP10 two years ago, would it make sense to use both in my tank? Can I set my MP10 as slave and MP40 as mater on opposite sides of the tank? Also, as I was reading through the documentation it said that 1/2'' thick glass is too thick for MP10. Anyone use the MP10 on a tank with that kind of glass thickness? --best Arseniy |

As long as the mp10 is wireless sure. I haven't used one on .5" glass but it may work if you support the dry side.
The mp40qd is going to provide a lot of flow in your tank.

I use both my mp10's on 12mm glass, not quite half inch but close.
If I do not support the dry side, they will fall off. They do work, but the dry side has to be supported, and any little bump will make them fall off. If I put them up to 100%, after a few minutes they fall off.
