Protein skimmer in FOWLR...?
Do you "need" a protein skimmer in a FOWLR - if you are also using a canister filter (Fluval FX6) for the same purpose (using polishing pads, etc. in the FX6)...?

FOWLR tend to eat a lot of protein and produce a lot of waste. It can only help.

I would say you in a FOWLR you need a skimmer even more than in a coral tank.
