Smelly
After my last water change, I've noticed that my room where my tank is, smells like a fish store. It has never been that bad before. I can almost smell it when I walk into my home. I did recently treat my tank, but I've done that in the past and no smell was present. My carbon in my reactor isn't that old. Any help? TIA.

Is your room vented? I would put a dehumidifier and a fan in the room and see if that helps. Also open a window to aid in some fresh air infusion.

Two things that may help:
- Carbon furnace filter, I now run these and have noticed a great improvement in overall fresher smell in the house. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Filtrete-O...-x-25/24389681 - Install a quite Panasonic exhaust fan either run on a timer or humidistat along with a passive air vent to help pull in fresh air & expel stale air. Or consider an air exchanger which is more efficient on your heating/cooling bills. http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-FV-0.../dp/B000XJNZ1Y Last edited by karsco; 10/05/2015 at 08:54 AM. |
