Its been a solid week of High ammonia and I still have no cycle started, that is in addition to using a bottle of Fritz Zyme 9 to help kick start it. I guess I won't use that again!!

I added 9 gallons of water from my other two tanks last Sunday and as of last night look at my new test readings, I got Cycle!

Monday June 2nd

Wednesday June 4th - can you say CYCLE Baby!!!

So I wanted to aadd some more ammonia not a lot, but enough to give an extra kick to the system.

Might be time to move the three Green Chromis I have this Sunday if everything comes down by then.

So yesterday was a busy tank day. Lots of "stuff" going on.

I checked the water, Ammonia and Niterite are back to zero, Niterate is up a little but that is to be expected.

I did 9 gallons of water from my other two tanks and 5 gallons of new salt water for a water change, then I started to add life.

Added Two Green Chromis, one of the two nice pieces of gulf live rock from John that has a bunch of life on it, a mushroom, an acan, a rock covered in GSP, a big piece of dragons breath, and huge piece of red grape, also I put a wad of cheato in the sump along with some live rock from the other tanks. Nothing is glued don yet, it’s just in there. I will let that marinade for at least a week.

What a busy weekend!! I finally got the time to move everything from the Cardiff over here to the Hexahedron. At this point I am very very happy with the scape and the size of this tank. Enjoy the pics!!

Right Side

Left Side

Top Down

While I was cleaning out the Cardiff, I stumbled on this little guy. It would seem that I have a maited pair of banggai cardinalfish!

So I went out and got a breeders basket and I will try and grow him out so he can go into my frag tank.

I wanted to breed them a while back. Get a black long spine urchin. The use it for protection in the wild. The babies will stay in it. Or, you could let me have the little guy for my Ruby nano tank.....

MrCyrus, Great info on the urchin, I may just do that. Im going to keep this little guy, I kind of feel like he is special because he is even alive, but if my two adults have another clutch or whatever you call them I will hook you up!

Well Sad news. The young fish lasted three days and it died. Not sure why but I suspect it was the food or lack of it. I was feeding cyclops and reef plankton because I did not have any baby brine shrimp. I will next time.

Everything else is doing well so far.....here are a few new pics!

Did you keep him penned up? He was probably surviving off your reef.

Yes he was pened up in a breeders box. know it was surviving off something, I found it in the drain area of what is the sump on that AIO. What I dont know is if he was in there for a long time or not.
I guess it does not matter at this point. i just have to watch Mom & Dad closer for the next clutch.
