My 75g Rimless RR build!
Hello friends! I decided to build this setup from basically scratch after thinking I was done entirely with reef keeping. I guess it is something that I could not give up on. I wasn't planning on posting any of it but I happened to take a bunch of pictures along the way, and decided to share. After all, I got some of the ideas from fellow reefers and thought maybe I could also contribute.
I bought the 75g from a local guy, used. It came with a stand but it was not what i had in mind, so i started building... http://i963.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps7sie1cox.jpg http://i963.photobucket.com/albums/a...psargyiibc.jpg With that complete, I decided to use a 29g for the sump/fuge. I took apart another tank and cut the glass to make the baffles. I decided to go with a split section with the return pump in the center, fuge on one side and skimmer on the other. I also tapped into the return plumbing to run a carbon/ gfo reactor. I'm running a 5g bucket drip system for top off R/O http://i963.photobucket.com/albums/a...psdfhbmd2e.jpg For the lights I decided to go with two 175w MH's with two 96w PC's. I also mounted a little current LED light I had for a nano tank in the center to keep it light during the nitrogen cycle. I'm still holding off to buy all the bulbs for fixture, and I've decided on Hamilton for the brand. |
