These should have been included in the last picture update...

C. jordani - young male

A rare moment capturing one of the male C. earlei's displaying:

Almost as rare, capturing both males in the same frame:

Thought you guys might be interested in a problem we had recently.
A couple of weeks ago we came home to find several dead or near dead fish. The flame angel, female bellus, and the c.f. lanceolatus were down. The regal angel, both earli wrasses, and several others were hiding and breathing hard.

There were no signs of any problems with any of the equipment, nor were there any apparent signs of water quality issues (within testable parameters).

We immediately suspected a contaminant or toxin, and so did a big water change and put two reactors of GAC online.

We are so happy to report that the regal, earl's, and others made a recovery.

We are also very saddened by the untimely loss of the bellus, flame angel, and lanceolatus. We have no conclusive evidence whatsoever of what caused the event. Was it one of the cucumbers? A toxic spawning (is there even such a thing?) No idea. it's maddening.

That sucks about the fish. However, your quick thinking probably saved the rest of the fish.

Thanks guys! We are thankful that there were no more losses.

On a good note, we thought we would share an updated video from an underwater perspective:

Excellent, as usual. How did you manage to teach the fish to hold the camera?

Thanks Dave! and LOL, if it were only that easy! It was a challenge trying to keep the camera still underwater so some of the footage ended up a bit shakey.

I agree, what a masterpiece.

What type of angel is that? Kind of looks like a Bellus crossed with a Spotbreast.

I think it's a spotted breast male angel.

Thanks to you both. We really do see it that way - we try to keep refining the placement and choice of the corals for a natural, pleasant look. Suggestions and critiques are welcome!

That is a rather unique specimen of Genicanthus semifasciatus or Japanese Swallowtail.

That's the $500 Efflo - and we're really glad we didn't pay that much for it!
