A160's or A360's?

I am really liking what I read about the Kessil lights. YouTube videos have really impressed me as well. So my question is, would 2 A160we's be sufficient on my 75 gallon or do I need the A360we's? I do not plan on keeping any real light demanding corals...at least not for quite a while.

I own both. 360 is spec'd to a 24x24 square; 160 to a 18x18 square. I think this is accurate, so if you went with the 160, I think you'd need three, assuming a standard dimensioned 75. At that point you're almost at the cost for a pair of 360s, so that is what I'd do.

I believe your mistaken on the 160 coverage their website says" up to a 24" surface diameter" I believe the a160 has a nicer blue spectrum than the 360 it is definitely a different blend to me the 36owe is almost a blue purple but the 160 is a nice blue almost like the 350 spectrum. IMO

Do you have both?

Kessil website isn't really very helpful. No way the 160 would work on a 24" tank with any kind of depth; and I don't put all my corals at the water's surface, do you? I run both the 160 and 360 off the same apex cable and notice no spectral difference. The 160 has a blue colored rim around the lens (whereas the 360 dose not) which makes it appear more blue, but it does not appear to be so below the water.

Yes I have had both I sold my 360 because I didn't care for the "blue" I kept and love my 350w I just got in a 160we for a hospital tank I'm setting up. I understand it has a blue rim but that wasn't what I was talking about

Edit: sorry I missed one of your questions but no I don't put my corals at the surface

Ok I guess I'll go with 2 360's then. I was hoping to get away with the cheaper 160's. Thanks for the input

I would go with the 2 360's as well. I have them on my 65g and it's perfect. If you want to keep a clam or SPS,....you will need the extra power.

OK, that's interesting. The manual for the 160 does say it can be adjusted down to 'actinic' whereas the 36 says 'close to actinic blue' so clearly there is a difference. I don't run mine that blue so notice no practical difference at 15000K. As nice as these lights are, the documentation leaves quite a bit to be desired.

Not to derail everything here. Maybe you guys can help me out. I have a 150 gallon tall 48x24x30. I have the opportunity to buy 160w tuna blues from someone brand new for 100 per light. Would they work for my application to grow sps? Lets say I bought 5-6 maybe more units?
