Lobophyllia issue--First post

I've been lurking on the forum for quite some time, but now have a question that I have not been able to find the answer too.

I have a beautiful bright green lobo that has been doing well for the few months since I've acquired it. I've added a small black clown goby and it has been perching on the lobo regularly. Now the lobo is showing some signs of receding and it's starting to put off more mucous in the last few days. The bright green color is changing somewhat.

I feed my coral 2-3 times per week alternating reef chili and reef roids. I've been monitoring parameters and everything is spot on. I have another lobo I added at the same time and it's doing perfect but it does not have a fish perching on it. The feeding response is very evident from the healthier lobo then it is with the green one I'm concerned about.

Can the goby harm the coral by perching on it? I thought it was cute at first, but the lobo cost much more the the clown goby.

Losing color mostly mean bleaching, either due to light, or inadequate water conditions.

It's not bleaching but the colors has changed somewhat. It's slightly receded and there's visible mucous constantly coming off the coral. This has happened within the last few days.

Both of my clown gobies perch on all my corals. if anything they just close up the polyp they are perched on. I've never had an issue with them killing a coral from perching(it's what they do). I would look elsewhere for issues.

I moved the coral from it's mount on the rock. It was only 4" or so above the bottom of the tank. I put it in an area that is a little lower flow and on the bottom so a bit lower light. It's still alive and I can see it swell in the morning. It's giving off less mucous and I think starting to reverse the deterioration. I have another lobo nearby that is doing great. Hopefully it was just a placement issue.

And both the black clown and citron goby have followed it and still perch on it frequently.

I would start feeding it more meaty food. You can keep most LPS alive with just Reef Roids and Reef Chili but some really need more substantial food like krill, shrimp, salmon, squid etc. I suggest at least once a week give it one of those along with your usual fine particulate foods. You could even try LPS pellets too.
