acrylic thickness and led light question tank 36x24x10

i am going to build 2 holding tanks with the dimensions of 36"x24"x10" with a max water level of 8". what i am looking for is the thickness of the acrylic needed, weld on number, and LED lighting for display. the tanks will hold inverts ( crabs, snails, shrimp) fish and corals. all will be seperated by dividers. light questions would be color size (wattage) and number. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

for a DIY high power LED, around 36 LEDs, or roughly $360 without (>$100) controller.

You can go with 3/8" thick, I would say 1/2" if it was mine because I like the dimension of thicker acrylic. A 2.5 " eurobrace made of a single piece top. Weldon 3 or 4 is the solvent you would use. Make sure that you use a radius no smaller than 1" when cutting the corner holes in the top (to create the eurobrace).

Acrylics is the expert, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn.

Rapid LED is a good shop, they have everything in one place (drivers, optics, thermal paste, heat sinks, fans, etc...) and their customer service is outstanding.
