Fromia starfish Question

I’d really like to expand into more inverts so I got a red fromia milleporella. Is this a normal behavior or should I be on the lookout for removing it ASAP? I understand starfish are hit or miss. I acclimated for 1 hour drip; which I learned should have been longer. When he was in the tank at first he moved around and found this spot and hasn’t move me since. My concern is his legs hanging there, there are no signs of disintegration. Is this something anyone has seen?

I will report that it is up and moving abit! Still no sign of disintegration so now we’re on day two. I am seeing it’s tube feet very active today. Could this behavior have been him acclimating, or is it normal? I feel it will be fine but I’m still up for discussion and will keep updating for a couple more days. I have had my tank for 2 years and have an assortment of algae so I thinks starving is not so much a risk hopefully.

I have zero experience when it comes to starfish, so I can’t be of any help so I am sorry. Nice starfish tho and good luck!

In my limited experience with Fromias this is normal.

I got a fromia monilis on Boxing Day. My tank is also 2 years old. So far so good. He moves around surprisingly quickly when the mood takes him, but often will stay in the same spot for a day or more. He often is in amusing positions and the tips of his legs might curl up with the little tentacles waving around - perhaps checking the current?
He goes all over glass, rocks, sand.

I always check him out first thing though as I’m still worried about him; so hard to know something’s amiss. Good luck with yours!

Good to know, like I said I’d like to get into the echinoderms. This seems to be a good start; seeing it hasn’t died yet
