put it on the drain if your tank is drilled in the back. if it's drilled on the bottom put a pipe to the outside of the stand and tack it on outside of the tank. then back in. or do an over the top of the tank return

I like this first suggestion. These are the new Pro Guard ones from Lifegard and I didn't expect the thing to be so freaking big lol It's an amazing unit. Awesome construction, but it's huge too.

I wouldn't put a uv on a drain, too many bubbles, and too much risk of losing water contact. You'd have to make sure when water flow stops, it stays full of water. So you'd end up with a trap that will collect sediment.

Plumb it sideways and make sure if flow stops, it stays full.

I plumb a big UV on my main siphon drain, but I had to cobble a few accommodations and would not recommend it to the novice. If you run a controller, you can associate the UV with either flow meters or main pump on/off so that the UV is off if there’s no flow. I also put a port in mine along the top edge as a way to measure that the unit is fully flooded. Only works with a long drop.

I mounted mine on bottom of tank and plumbed it off a baffle from my return

I don't think I can fit it, it's massive. And then I'm not too sure about the inlet and outlet and how they're aimed either. I would think a "U" shape like that would cause faster flow through?
