Cool Fish on Diver's Den

It's about 6 inches "tall" and 8 inches wide. They said it was "2 1/4 inches in diameter when fully opened" lol.

I have only kept this one (have had him for around a year), so my experience with this species is fairly limited. He is very outgoing, and is a very active fish. For the first couple weeks following QT he did hide quite a bit, but it really didn't take long before he learned to associate me with food. Not territorial at all, and has never bothered any of his tank mates (including smaller fish/wrasses added after him). FWIW, I have him in a 1300 gallon (approx.) DT, with 800-900 lbs of rock. Am curious to hear about how yours does, so if you think about it, please keep me posted!

They have always been very accurate for me and I have purchased a bunch from them over the years, probably over 50 fish. I think they must have a device to make it easy to measure and photograph them.

Yeah 1300g vs. 80g is a big difference, I'll let you know how things go when I get mine into my DT.

I'm pretty sure that Brett was being totally sarcastic with his post, look at page 2 of the Divers Den link

Sorry. Yes, sarcastic.

When I posted it, all those clowns were on the first page. It was like they were taking over Divers Den!

Gem tang alert! Seemed like the last one took a while to sell.

Dmorty? It IS Christmas time after all. You've probably earned it....

Haha. Yeah I just ordered a false personifer pair set to arrive on Tuesday... There is a Clarion on DD today too but I would rather have a wild caught one

Wow. Didn't notice the clarion in the email. Bringing out the big guns - gotta get those Christmas bonuses out to all the LA employees (the Conspic is still there, I see).

So a Conspic, gem and clarion will all be available at once?

Somebody out there.....DO IT! DO IT! DO IT!

The real question is do you pay double the price for a 14 day guarantee.

Ha!

I do see on the main page, on the "Cyber Week 50% Off Deals!" section there is a photo of a gem tang. Uh, not so much.

I think it depends on how frail the fish is. This being captive bred I would think there is very little risk. If you pay $2000 and it dies and then you buy another $2000 and the second one lives, you still have $4000 invested. Also, I think that depends on how much you like the individual fish. Personally if I had $2000 to pay, I would have $4000 and I would just spend the $4000 and get a little sleep those two weeks. LOL

They are rarely collected I believe. Karen has a pair she has but isn't focusing on them since she has bigger breeding projects underway

Completely overpriced, especially for a misbar. IMHO a tank bred latezonatus is only something special and worth the money if it is perfect. That was what Karen archived - perfect tank bred latezonatus.
Otherwise it's just another misbar clownfish, but one that gets big and mean.

I think these tank bred latezonatus come from Australia, at least that's where the ones come from Blue Zoo has on their site. They haven't moved for almost a month now. The pair DD has for $800 also hasn't sold yet.
