Stream 3 and apex

Is there any benefit to connecting my stream 3 to my apex controller? Or will I just have basically the same functions? Also, what about the auto reverse feature that's built into the stream 3, will that continue to work?

Auto reverse will work unless the power is switched off to the pump, if it is controlled by the DC control it will work. With one pump I don't expect you will see any advantage to the apex connection except you could set multiple speeds and pulse settings over a course of a day.

Did you ever get your Stream 3 working with your Apex? I have mine connected but all I can do is turn them on and off. I can't control the speed with my apex.

While the Stream 3 is digital control, it takes a standard 0-10V input but it is 0-6.5V range for speed control and converts that to digital on the 7090.600. It really should work the same as any other model of Stream pump made since 2015 with the 7090 controller on an Apex. The 7090 needs to be in external mode and a 6150 can run as slow as 5%, anytime you turn it off, it will have a couple second delay to restart as it first has to run through a start sequence to levitate the drive unit from off.
