Internal parasites

Fish not eating so is there any value in treating the water column for internal parasites? If so, do you recommend GC? Metro? Or fenbendozole? Whenever she decides to eat, I will treat with combo Fenbendazole/metro/focus.... thx

Have you seen any stringy white poo? That usually has to be present for internal parasites/worms to be afflicting a fish. Because they are feeding on (and irritating) the intestinal lining.

Yes there is significant Stringy white long poop. The issue is that she is not eating and thus the question of treating the water column in lieu of food. Thx

Any ideas on how to get him to eat? I already soak the food in garlic to no avail....thx

If they are not eating, I would dose API General Cure so they will drink some of the medications which will hopefully kill some of the internal pathogens.

I’ve been observing him more closely in the QT and now realize that he is having some difficulty with buoyancy. He’s doing backward upside down circles and swimming sideways allot. He was also doing some of this in the DT but now its much more noticeable. I’ve not heard of saltwater angels getting swim bladder disease but could it have been as a result of bringing him up too fast when collecting especially because he is a deep water species? What can I do to cure him of this potential ailment?

I’ve been observing him more closely in the QT and now realize that he is having some difficulty with buoyancy. He’s doing backward upside down circles and swimming sideways allot. He was also doing some of this in the DT but now its much more noticeable. Is he swimming predominantly tail up or tail down?

Hmmm..when he is glass surfing across the 55g tank, he swims starting out flat like a surf board on his side and then rather normal. When surfs up and down he mostly is tail down on way up and tail up on way down...rather normal. He occasionally throws in a head first backward flip in full circle. He’s always moving and very active. This has been the case for 2-3 weeks. Same type of patterns....

Still not eating. Spits pellet or any food out immediately I may have to force feed with syringe so he can get some nutrition and meds.
