seems the consensus is to replace the bulkhead with a better one..
I've heard they are absolutely junk/cheap/thin,etc...

Yea they are low quality because who really cares if they leak outside in an animal pen?

Any other bulkhead that fits in the hole thats there..
Remove it and let us know the diameter of the hole there..

Also confusing that you "set this up back in 2017".. I had to go check the calendar and ask my wife if I passed out for a few years again... Lets also make sure you are putting the "nut" side inside the tank and have the gasket under the flange on the outside of the tank? bulkheads are here.. hole sizes shown there too.. https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/pumps...bulkheads.html You may have to enlarge the hole slightly..

I'd try a new bulkhead. Bulk Reef Supply generally has good products, but a local hardware store might have some, too. I'd get a grade certified for drinking water use.

If its leaking at the threads where something is attached to the bulkhead (and its a threaded bulkhead now) you may be better off going with a slip vs threaded and gluing it in.. I personally avoid threaded fittings whenever possible even though I know how to use them properly (thread sealant/proper torque,etc...) I have NEVER had a glued fitting leak.. I have a threaded leak in the past at least once..
