I cleaned 650lbs of Fiji pink sand for the tank. I also added 100lbs of "live" Fiji pink sand.

Wow, that school of tangs and angels looks like a school of Chromis in a smaller tank. It really shows what a large aquarium this really is.
I'm very, very envious.

I am guessing you used both live sand and live rock....how long did it take to cycle before you added the fish.....

Alex T. - I have some chromis as well...
They keep going over the falls and I find them in the filter socks... FuzzyZipperbaum - You are correct I used both live sand and live rock and cycled it for about three weeks before half the fish went in then I waited another two weeks before I put the rest of the fish in. thewire - I have a routine of cracking the windows of the basement each morning and closing them at night. If it gets humid then I open the windows while I am home and let the air circulate a few times a week. Old school, I know but it works for this system. |

Alex T. - Your 195 gallon reef is no nano bud...that is a great sized reef!
Kipps - Thanks... I have been growing him since he was a baby...check out this video of him in my old frag tank...he is not reef safe so he was hanging out in the overfow... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BkAu...8&feature=plcp |
