6055 Not working
So, I bought a 7096 controller and 2, older Tunze 6055 nanostreams off of Craigslist (I understand the inherent risk of buying stuff off of Craisglist :-/ ) When I purchased them I was able to plug them in and they both worked. Since then, one of them will not, for the life of me, start back up.
Do you have any suggestions on what I can do to remedy this? I've switched power cords to no success. I was able to get the 'non-working' one running for like 30 seconds once, but since then, nothing. I've since purchased another used 6055 off of eBay and it is a lot louder than my other 6055. Will a vinegar soak possibly help remove some of the calcification within the area where you insert the impeller and possibly cut down on the noise? Any suggestions would be great. PK |

First, make sure the metal shaft is rigidly fixed in the motor, it should not come out.
Make sure the pump is clean and free of any calcium deposits. Make sure the disk 6055.740 is present and installed correctly (blue rubber faces down to the motor, black plastic up to the drive unit. Try swapping drive units between pumps (propeller assembly). The noisy one if everything checks out may just have a worn drive unit, replacing it should solve the noise. Make all tests with no controller or control cable attached, if it still does not work, the motor has likely failed and can be replaced by part 6055.100.
