Looks great Brandon. How many oops gallons will it hold with the sump in it?

Looking good! So jealous. I'm in the process of a build but due to work and travel I'm lagging behind. Anxious to see the stand skinned.

Brandon, based on this build and your 120 build, I would like to have you as a contractor on my next tank build.

The tank is looking great! I can't wait to see how the cabinets will look around it!

Thanks, everyone!! I think to make that white box easier to clean, I will have a 1/8" piece of white acrylic cut to fit the bottom. I would guess it could hold 30-40 or so oops gallons

Where are you all ordering dry rock? So many places have it for sale but I like large interesting rocks. And was hoping for a shelf. I found this which seems cool but I find it hard to imagine ordering online sight unseen.

I've ordered from BRS and Marco. If you get pukani from BRS just make sure you dip it/bleach it first. Theres a lot of junk in those rocks. The great part about the rock from both places is they are fairly easy to shape into something you like on your own with a chisel and saw.

Brandon - I ordered mine from Marco Rocks. They have some nice cut pieces. My Aquascapes are currently curing in a 100 gal Rubbermaid tub. The rock isn't releasing any PO4 (checking with Hanna ULR checker) and it is super clean - I probably could have cured it in the tank, but was too scared to try and in no hurry anyway. The mortar they sell made it pretty easy to aquascape. I used a hand grinder with a cutting wheel and the mortar to build the aquascape. Here are some pics. The aquascapes are really strong and sturdy.

Brandon,
Like Paul said, Marco rocks has pieces cut on a wet saw for corner placement & anything else you need.
Marc is a great guy & his product has been around a long time, mined in Florida on land.

I have another 50-60 lbs if not more. But I only wash about 15 lbs at a time. We had some water issues in the house so I am waiting for that to clear up before I continue washing. I went ahead and ordered 4 pieces of white plexi to line the entire sump box in. It should make it look better and clean up easier. Cabinet guys should be out any day now!

I'm not a fan of all shelf rock in a tank. (Like you asked for my opinion.) A few pieces here and there look okay. Arches are cool too. I used the BRS Eco-saver rock with some LR when I set up my 40b. Really affordable and it fully encrusted with coralline within the first 8 months.

I used to wish I had the space in the 120 for a center pillar with shelf in between 2 islands going up to about 1/2-1/3 of the tank. I really think I should give it a shot. I am so anal about aquascaping so we will see. I must be borderline OCD because that was the most stressful part about setting up the 120. A 300 will be interesting.

If you use the Caribsea Live sand there is no need for rinsing.

Are you going to seal the plexi in?

Yes indeed^. I ordered another tube of the Momentiv RTV108. Love that stuff! I added the last of the sand but will wait until there is more to see for photo updates.

Thanks, all!

I plan on starting the plumbing this weekend. I will also set up the sink in the garage and start creating the water making station. I plan on getting 2 drums for water and running a pump and plumbing from the garage to the tank for adding water (fresh or salt).
