Heavy Bioload Skimmer with smaller footprint
Hi All,
I am finally at the point of needing to upgrade my protein skimmer. Any suggestions for 100gal tank with heavy bioload (I don't want to upgrade again as I add more). Unfortunately because of my sump layout it needs to fit in a 10" x 10" area. Was looking at Reef Octopus but can't find one that will crank with this small of a footprint. Thank you! |

I recently added a Simplicity 240 DC to my 180g. It is rated for more than your 100, and would easily fit in a 10”x10” area. It is super quiet and is doing great IMO. Customer service has been awesome too. I can’t tell you it is better than x, y, or z brand, because my only personal experience is with an old Turboflotor T1000. But I think they are worth checking out.

What skimmer do you have now?
Got a budget in mind?

I have a SCA Aquarium skimmer that came with the aquarium I bought. Don't know much about it other than it's a pinwheel pump.
No real budget...I think my chamber size will limit what skimmer I can get. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk |

https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/reef-...g-skimmer.html I run one of these in a small sump under my 150 gallon tank. It does a fine job for me. I have a fairly heavy bioload I think also with 4 tangs a wrasse a trigger and chromy's and I feed pretty heavy twice a day. I love fat healthy fish! Footprint: 7.3in x 9.5in

Tunze 9410 is what I'd get. It comes with Roger, customer service superstar, not that you'll need him because the skimmer is set and forget.
