Some night light shots.
The look is amazing, much better than the pictures. It's hard to shoot actinic/blue light. |

None of the led units have ever stopped working nor broke. I don't know about replacing it but a friend of mine opened the fixture and said it's a simple soldering. You should contact the manufacturer for this kind of questions. |

Hi bmco,
I am planning on replacing my 4 x 250 MHs over my 300 gallon SPS tank with LEDs. The tank measures 96" L x 24" W x 30" H. How many 156 fixtures would you recommend? Also, what are the dimensions of your tank (sorry if you already stated these)? Thanks! Beautiful tank you have there! |

Incredible tank. I was wondering what method you use for introducing sps into your system. Do you dip them or QT them?

Hi, Sorry for the late reply. My tank size is: L 98 inches , H 36 inches , W 34 inches. I would recommend 6 units for SPS dominated tank. The same I have. I guess you can manage with 5 but I prefer wider spread. For soft & LPS corals, 5 will be fine. |

Your tank looks great. Thank you for sharing this with us.
And big thanks for the step by step LED light test. I am going to start a build in October. Tank won't be done till then. I will be grateful if you follow along and gave your advice |

I recommend 4 units with 60' lens. It will look great and cover well. 4 units will be great for LPS/SPS tank. |

You can always start with 3 units. If you have a problem you can add T5 or T8-led fixture to compensate light on corner shadowed areas.

After using LED's for 4 months, do you think you will ever go back to MH?

What an amazing tank, I'm also interested in the power supply, sump size, etc..
Your Aquascape is perfect! I'm considering 2 PR-156W the 120* versions for a 225. Do you think 2 would cover that? 72" long X 24" wide x 30" |

WOW I just priced 6 units of the 156w $4,600.00 to light my 180 I guess I can count that out for a while.

Thanks qualitydaydream. I think 2 units are not enough for that long tank. I'd recommend 4 unit for your tank. |

Awesome tank, such an inspiration. I was looking for some other tanks with Orphek's 156 and google brought me here I got 3 of the pr156w units and was trying to figure out a good photo period.
Since Orphek took their forum down, it's tough to find answers, or get information. Could you share your photo period? Like how many hours moonlights and how many hours full lighting? Thanks for any help you can provide. |

You might also look at this thread. It is a monster build in Canada. It is also using Orphek LED Aquarium Lights.
