Steel stand manufactured by AGE, I figured they could build the right one since they built the tank.
Also it made it much easier to move with stand built already & delivered at the same time.

I can "understand" that. I am in the process of planning a large system too. I am going wooden as it will be a wall to wall system. I see there was some discussion around placing the tank in front of the windows. Are you still happy with that decision or would you do it differently if you could do it again? Just curious because my tank will be in front of windows too. Im wondering if there are any hidden issues im not thinking of.

Im going with a glass cages tank.(130 x 31 ˝ x 30 ˝) I dont think they care what kind of stand you use. I hope I dont need there stand, I dont like them very much.

Glass cages will only offer a 90 day warranty no matter what you put it on.

Finished 15 Ai's tonight with loomed wire, mounted cords & power strips. Finished stand, & put plexiglass 12" high under window for 2 vents, R/o, & power to outside chiller. Plumbed in chiller & positioned water change tanks outside. 200 gal & 150 gallon tanks.
Just finished at 10:00 pm, 8 hours... I'm beat

Looks really great Andy. Can you share some specifics and details around the skinning of your stand? What materials, who did it, how is it attached, etc? This is the one big unknown for me on my next build and I would love to see yours detailed out, Looks amazing.

Wood frame attached to metal stand & doors mounted to that. Doors are Formica granite on the outside & white on the inside. Frame is 22" tall with 1&1/2" aluminum angle for 2 rows of 4' AI racks on each side. They can slide front to back for access & change of lighting areas. Skin & canopy came out NICE!

It looks like alot more rock than there really is. Since the tank is 48" deep, there is still alot of space in front & back of the rock.

The hum of the hammerhead is great. Puts me to sleep. The GenX 30 feed pump for the skimmer is bad. I am waiting to swap it out with a new one.
So far no complaints from wife about noise. Still have to hook up Vortec M60s.

Thanks, everything takes so much longer than you think it will. Took 4 hours just to wire up the lights.
Working outside on window plexiglass reminded me of working on cars as a teenager in the driveway til all hours of the night.

Im curious how you like your new lighting? Now that you have played with them for a few days do you like them? How is the controller to use and how is the flexibility? Looks like a real nice design. Also how far off the water are they? Do you get good lighting at the sand bed? Feel they are strong enough?
