This is why you are my good mate despite being Austrian Flo, you're not afraid to risk it all for your hobby !

No it was a little shady boat in an abandoned shipyard at the Danube
Midnight stuff and all... wait till I tell you where the tank is from

No 750€ is the official price said by Philips but me and another guy bought 6 pices and so we got a better prize

Haha...
But if you've got a reseller near you ask what prize they can make because the 750€ are the official prize asked by Philips and as we all know there is always a way

The Philips Coral Care are great lights that are frequently used in EU.
They have great reviews for LPS and SPS.
Florian, you made a great choice.

Online you can get these lights (tax free) for about EUR 550.
Add shipping and possible import duties and you are still cheaper than the newest Radions.

Let see if Flo can grow cangurus with those lights before looking at bad things... they are a pretty good candidates for my next light upgrade.

All the options I had when I used the Ecotech Radion was a bit too much for me. Always wondering if I'm running the right colors for my corals...

Cheers
Thanks Flo!
So, can you list the led colours in there?
Still ain't cheap!

I'm going to see if my lighting rep at work can get these for me! We just bought $100,000 worth of there led replacement lamps.

Who needs a shipyard for good deals.

So here a little picture update!!

Redid all the wire management

And I lifted the rock work up with some eggcrate so that it doesn't get covered in the sand ^^

And here with the sand

Top down view

I am happy so far but there is still one light missing, the delivery company doesn't know where it went...
also I have to wait for the paneling (don't know if this is the right word) for the sand and the canopy
Can't fill the tank befor that arrives because from some parts I'll have to move the tank to mount that to the wall

So far

Cheers

Very cool way to have maximum coral real estate with still having hiding spots for fish.

I would have left some space between rock and glass to avoid possibility of dead spots, thus avoiding detritus accumulation.

So you mean putting the rocks on the sand?
The egg crate is only right under the founding rocks so the rest of the sand is "free"

Cheers

Looking great Florian, but I agree with Discusheckel.
I am not sure if your rock is in his final position, but moving it a little forward will not only improve the flow (although you have a MP40 in that corner) it will also bring the rock more under the LED ficture and will allow the corals to grow more 360 degrees. Here assuming you position the LED in the middle of the tank.

Another thing Flo... Have you cured the rocks in RO/DI? I know they can leach silicates and phosphates. Better safe than sorry!

Looks great btw, gonna steal your stand/sump layout

No I meant the distance between the rocks and vertical glass surfaces.

Ahh okay now I get it
Will try and move it a bit away from the glass
But for no dead spots my mp10 should be working back there...
