Vanishing Lettuce Slugs
I've had three lettuce slugs over the past year or so. Each one did well for a few weeks, then disappeared. I noticed that they would occasionally let go of what they were crawling on and float about in the tank current. Is it possible that they were caught in the tentacles of my rather large BTA and were eaten by the nem? Has anyone seen this happen?

life expectancy lettuce slug
I believe they require a certain algae to survive.
They also have a short life span, six months is normal in the wild. Probably much shorter in captivity. |

Mine cleared my tank of ulva and bryopsis, then a few months later died. It did lay a few batches of eggs before it died and I think that's what they do to keep the circle of life going. Like stated above they have short life spans, usually 6-12 months.
