This was a cool video. Seeing the algae cells moved around and an expansion of something at the beginning

looks like you have to click on this picture to bring up the video

NOW at 48 hours the difference between with and with out 5ml Vibrant was drastic. It was most impressive how much bacteria was in the sample with 5ml of Vibrant added. Keep in mind that would be a massive amount if scaled up to a full size tank. It's like a 2.5oz cup with 5ml of Vibrant added...

48 hours tank water sample
Healthy algae still looks healthy. Nice amount of life moving around still. Pods etc.

With 5ml of Vibrant added @ 48 hours there was not a spot that I could not find a lot of bacteria at every focal level when using a higher power lens

here's a video but the video can't record as high of a resolution as I'd like and doesn't show as well the crazy amount of bacteria that was visible while watching

but it still shows a lot. Will have to click on them to see the video.

Jason very interesting. Because at the other forum, you followed the "chat" I had with Jeff, he wrote me that the bacteria strains in vibrant can not reproduce and to you that are short lived 36-48h! What you saw us , proving that multiplied and I am very curious to see in 24 h , if you are going to notice a population decrease.

I'm not sure how much of that is accurate. If the bacteria has something to consume why would it suddenly stop reproducing.

But at the same time keep in mind there's bacteria in those samples from my tank in there and the vibrant provides a carbon source to feed on. So, some of that explosion in bacteria could be from that little amount of acetic acid in vibrant.

What I would need to do now is get two more samples of new salt water and in one add nothing and the other some vinegar and see what happens. I would assume an increase in bacteria too. I also need to get a sample of just rodi water with nothing in it but 5ml vibrant and see what happens.

Day 12 4x doses @ 80ml total

Cyano seems kicked back quite a bit now. The last of the thick mat is just about gone now. Hair algae still doesn't seem effected. Glass film algae still coming back but doesn't seem as strong tonight.

Thick mat is all gone. But the dusting of it has spread. 5th dose tomorrow night. Algae still looks healthy.

Day 14 4x doses @ 80ml total

Seems like the cyano is trying to make a come back. Keep in mind this is totally a nutrient problem. One which I'm causing.

I have not reduced feedings at all. 5th dose goes in tonight.

Day 15 5x doses @ 100ml total

Cyano getting thicker again. I will pull the ATS tonight, unless something else comes up, and see how it's production as been since starting the Vibrant dosing. Then see how the tank reacts to a clean screen.

Day 17 5x doses @100ml total

Looks like a little less cyano tonight. 6th dose will go in tonight.

One thing I haven't seen recently are my sea urchins. I have 3 of them. Short spine, tuxedo, and pencil. But that's not saying much as they come out at night. But I normal see at least one of them periodically. I'll have to keep an eye out for them.

Ok...saying this is interesting is well very intersting.

I predict a further reduction in cyano over the next couple days. Based on what I'm seeing in this sample taken from the thickest mat I found

From the little rock on the sand thats covered in cyano here

Cyano both looks thicker in spots but cut back as well. It's like a microbial war is going on in my tank. lol

I have the pictures uploaded from last night just need to post. Will do that soon.

Didn't get a good look of things yet tonight. Seems about the same. Maybe a little thicker. Took some quick pics

Sorry no Day 20 Pics. Didn't get a chance to take any.

But here's what I saw the other day which looks like the cyano getting broken down and falling apart.

This is from a thick mat and tried to only get the cyano which means I still got many other things with it.
