ray in a reef

wanted to know what you all think about maybe keeping ray in my 8'long x4'wide x18''tall mixed reef. or is this just a crazy idea.here are some pics of the tank and sand bed space.

I'd say maybe if you didn't have all the LR in there. Almost any ray needs room to swim and in your tank there isn't enough. I wouldn't do it.

I say go for it.... Just get a small one and keep in mind that it will outgrow your system

What do u all think about a small cortez stingray? like smaller then a baseball.

I told my lfs to go a head and order a few small Cortez stingrays so I can see how healthy and how well they are eating befor I make up my mind on buying one to put in my tank.

A small one may work. But the biggest fear is that he's chasing food that goe sbehind the rocks. Then he either get stuck or rips his skin trying to get it or get out. I found this out when i was looking at keeping rays.

Ever see a ray tank at a public aquarium with a bunch of rock in it? There's a reason why you don't see them.

Thanks for ur input I will keep ur info in mind. But I don't have any public aquariums around. But I see ur point.
