Sharks and Heaters
This is a FYI
I had a shark burn itself pretty good on a submersible heater last week. The heater slipped down from the sidewall and was resting on the bottom. The shark decided to rest against it and suffered a bad, deep, burn. This is the second time I have seen this happen. Sharks obviously do not know when they are being burnt. I also received info today that others have come to the same conclusion. If you have benthic sharks, the heaters should have cages.

Absolutely. Same issue with freshwater rays-keep the heaters covered. You can make your own or buy heaters covers. In my ray tank, I keep the heater in the sump.
