LOL, thanks, been a lot of work, just glad I'm getting to the good part. Building shelving, and will be setting up the quarantines soon and pulling the fish and letting the tank run fallow for a while...

Still a ways to go!

Next I plan on building a narrow platform to walk on for easier access to the tank so I can ditch the step ladder.

Very impressive build. The amount of work that went into this tank is just exhausting thinking about it. Great job man.

Hasn't left much in the way of spare time for sure. But it's to the enjoyable part thank goodness.

Better shot of the fixture I made up and running. Still need to order one or two more 4 bulb t5s to fill it out but for now this will do. Already drilled and ready to mount reflectors.

Precautionary tale...

Ok, first off...I broke down the 29 gallon I had at my barbershop Saturday after work. Gathered the livestock...a 2 1/2" blue hippo, 2 clowns, skunk cleaner shrimp, clean up crew, rock, etc, and headed home to acclimate.

After acclimation I began transferring the livestock to my tank.

Here is where things went BAD!!!!!
I scooped up the hippo tang for the 3 foot journey to the display with my bare hand and she (2 1/2 long fish) spurred me twice...just a dot of blood which I assumed was burning because of the saltwater.

Nope...soon my entire hand was on fire and for 3 days my body has ached. I thought I was going to end up in the ER to be honest, the pain for 7 hours before I drank enough to sleep it off would not ease up. Swollen hand for 3 days as well.

Hindsight is that Oxford studied tangs and just happens that one blue tang has a venom gland and so happens this is the species I own.

Anywho, keep this in mind, all it took was a tiny tiny dot of blood ***** on the hand.

Dennis, I am glad you are ok and thanks for the heads up. I did not know that tang had the venom sac. I have a scribbled rabbitfish that I take caution around.

Yeah, I knew about the foxfaces and lionfish, stone fish among others that are well known for being venomous, and knew to take care when handling zoas. I've owned several blue tangs and never had a clue nor had I ever read about the possibility they could inflict such pain. I've had kidney stones that hurt less.
I can only imagine it would have been worse had it been my old 13 inch hippo in my previous build that had gotten me....

Well, the 100 gallon stock tank full of rock is now cycled. Moved the majority of the rock into the live rock tub under the display.

Fuge is set up and now plumbed in as well.
