DIY Auto Skimmer Scraper
Just built this automatic skimmer scraper. Runs perfectly. Works off a dosing port and does a cleaning every 6 hours.
Motor is from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Wiper Blades are from a True Value Squeegee https://www.acehardware.com/departme...RoC-CsQAvD_BwE I'll send files if you want to roll your own. It's obviously sized for my skimmer so you would have to mod the Blade Holder to suit your skimmer cup. |

I use a Robo-Tank Controller so the dosing ports switch 12VDC on a scheduled basis for set period of time.

You could send the files out to be printed fairly cheaply but they would likely have to be modded to suit your particular skimmer.

I see that it would scrape but where does the sludge go?

That is a problem with all the skimmer cleaners. I have it run fairly often so there isn't allot of skimate scraped at a time. It does fall back down but seems to be ok. I think the general consensus is that it helps. Time will tell. I am thinking about an improved design with tilted or slightly twisted blades that would tend to scrape upwards as it rotates and push debris into the overflow.

Simple clean build. What skimmer are you using it on? Looks like an ASM. I want to print a new modified lid for my ASM G4 and incorporate something like you did. Putting the blades at an angle should help direct the skimmate up and into the cup.
