Mini-fridge dosing; Red Sea A/B

Found a solid plan on DIY refrigerator dosing station. I run the full Red Sea program, and the Energy components need to be kept cold. Got the doser, fridge, plumbing...then realized you’re supposed to shake before dosing.

Wondering if it’s worth it now.

Was also gonna have some refrigerated food in there.

Thoughts?

Depending how much you have invested thus far perhaps a couple or three of these magnet stirrers:

I guess the only issue I see is what do you do with the amount left in the dosing lines that aren't refrigerated?

I use a magnetic stirrer with my refrigerated feeding setup. Works great.

To deal with the unrefrigerated supply lines I use a Neptune DOS. This pump can be programmed to run in reverse, drawing material that needs to be refrigerated back into the refrigerator.

You could have a second line that flushed out the main dosing line or a valve to open that lets air drain it.

That’s where having a pump that can be programmed to run in reverse as well as forward comes in handy. Both the GHL Doser 2/2.1 and the Dos can be programmed for a sequence that includes both forward for feeding and reverse for bringing the food back to its source. I've use both products for feeding using both forward and reverse.

As for mixing, as noted above, you can use a magnetic stirrer or you could also run the pump in reverse prior to feeding to inject air into the bottles which will have a mixing effect. Both pumps mentioned above give you the ability to increase the rotational speed so running in reverse at a higher speed will inject more air resulting in an improved mixing effect.
