aclimating Stylophora from LED to T5

Hello Folks!!!

All of my LFS's use LED (Radions) in their grow tanks. I, on the otherhand, use t5 (6x80w). Some of my friends have mentioned they've had difficulty aclimating SPS corals grown on LED to T5. I have not had issues with LPS, however LPS don't have an issue with staying at the bottom of the tank for a couple of weeks. Wondering whether SPS would be ok staying at the bottom for a few days, or whether I should start them out mid tank, or maybe I'm exagerating and 6 T5 bulbs is really not a big deal? My tank is 50 cm tall.

Thanks,

Gus

Stylophora is a very hardy coral. You are overthinking this (for this coral) …..it will grow practically anywhere anyhow.... in fact, it's hard to eradicate …….

Yea just glue it where ever you wish to place it, stylo don't need acclimation in this situation

I purchased an ora purple stylo and had it on the sand bed for a few days then moved it up to it's current location with no issues. I also recently purchased a pink birdsnest from vivid and put it about halfway up near the stylo with no issue.

I run a combo of both t5 and LEDs so take my advice for whatever its worth. Good luck with your new coral.
