I burn candles and simmer cinnamon sticks for the season in the room my tank is in ad I've never had any tank probs from it.
I have a Pinpoint and test everything else weekly and have never found any probs from it.

... I find it helps if you get the corals drunk first. Just poor a few onces of Couvoisier in the tank and let the magic happen

I came across this post looking for info on why candles are bad for a tank... my gf just got like 5 truck loads of scented candles... Wanted to get some info before I said anything to her... It's good to see there is no real evidence of problems.. and I won't be opening my mouth. .and becoming a single man... well....today anyways woohoo Sent from my SM-S907VL using Tapatalk |

Scented candles + huge skimmer + open cabinet = disaster waiting to happen. Unless your skimmer air intake is equipped with charcoal filter, any air bound contaminant will have an effect (sooner or later). With frequent water changes, it might not that significant. Non WC reefer be careful with scented candles, perfumes, air freshner or any air bound contaminants if you have skimmer. I am speaking based on experience.
