I don't have a huge update but I have some things to update.
I have bought new flooring for the first floor of my home. Now all I need to do to is rip out the living room carpet and get the new flooring down. I wish it was as easy as it sounds. My tank stand is very close to being completely built. I have the doors built but not yet installed. I am wanting to be able to just remove them when I want versus using hinges. I am also looking for pointers or websites that can guide me through painting my stand to give it the professional finish of cabinetry. I'll do a photo dump of my frag system next.

Well, I see the quest for a dt has lasted longer that your 'quest for color'
Nice to see both quests are coming along nicely!

One foot in front of the other...especially with little kids in the picture.
When our twins were born, my life went bonkers...tank went on standby mode... Take your time, take care of your son, and get to the tank when you can. Your frags and fish look great! I sold you the Hanna PO4 Checker, right? Are you still using SeaKlear PO4 remover? I've got alot left over from when I was using it....

My flooring will be done on the first floor by the end of this weekend! I hope to have the tank stand painted by the end of the week too! Plumbing the display will be easy as I have pipes already stubbed up ready to tie into. I still don't have a canopy built but I can get my tank going with out it.
On a crappy note. I threw away a couple of corals last night. I once again have aefw. I can't help but believe they are from the same source. I am setting up a QT system now. I'm not going to go through this again. I might Also create a tank that I can just put the frag racks in then fill with dip and then drain and rinse with out having to handle the corals as often. This was very tedious for 8 weeks last time I went through this. I then almost crashed my system by becoming lackadaisical on rinsing.

What do you mean by same source?
Sorry to hear this. Might be a good time for a wrasse that specializes in this |

I think they got into my system from the same person I got them from in the first place. I have several different types of wrasses in there now. Christmas wrasse Dusky wrasse Yellow coris wrasse Red headed wrasse Melanurus wrasse 5 leopard wrasses And I think I'm forgetting one. Any suggestions for another wrasse or 10?

Yep I'm hating my tank right now. To much stress for a peaceful hobby. I'm looking over all the coral with a magnifying 🔎 glass. I threw away the only two pieces I found infested with them so far. I have about 60 more corals to look over by the end of the weekend. Quote:
Thanks, he is a blessing and a happy easy to care for kid. Yep I'm planning an approach to erridacate them. I might tie into the system just QT them in a different tank? Do you think they can get through filter socks or travel through pumps? I'm happy worth progress. I step forward two steps back!

Ugh...that sucks.
IME, AEFW's are poor swimmers. They are not going to be able get out of filter socks. I'm thinking that if you have a dedicated frag tank, using a UV sterilizer with a slow enough flow through it to completely kill everything that goes through it will keep AEFW's from going from one tank to another in the same system. Maybe get that going with flow from display to frag tank. UV from frag tank back to display. Slowly treat, cut, rinse frags one at a time until they are absolutely AEFW free, and then move them to the display. Eventually, you will have moved all contents from frag tank over to display without AEFW's. Take down and clean the frag tank, and then restart it with the UV in place and eventually, get a UV for the display to frag tank line as well, thereby ensuring both tanks are in the same system, but somewhat separate for pest/disease purposes? I know I'm being pretty cavalier with your money and time...but it's a suggestion. Are you thinking you got AEFW's from someone/somewhere locally, or an online vendor?

+1 Not sure the uv is required but certainly will help. Add a few peppermints to the qt
