I have control type "advanced" on all of mine.

On main pump:

Fallback ON
Set ON

(that will make it always turn on when it can)

On other devices (advanced again)
Fallback OFF
Set ON
If Outlet ReturnPump_3 = OFF then OFF
Defer 0xx:00 then ON

replace xx with 10, 15, 30...

Fallback --> what does it do when apex is offline? Normally you want to be conservative so you don't cause a flood

second line says "turn on"

third line says, but really stay off if return pump is off for some reason.

fourth line line says 'wait .... this long until you turn on'.

Obvously on your light you might want to remove the line about return pump,. also the device name will have to match whatever you named yours in apex.

hopefully that helps you get started.

So how will it work..

When power goes out, everything will goto however FALLBACK is set on each device.

When power turns back on it depends on how apex is set. If everything is set to "auto" it will do as you programmed. (with delays) If anything is set to "OFF" or "ON" that will override the auto programming and force it immediately on or off.

Also regular use, you will notice if you have something off, and set it to auto, it will always wait before it turns on. So if you turn off the skimmer then clean it and then want it back on, you might have to flip it "off" then clean it, then "on" so it powers on immediately, and then back to "auto" so it runs the way you have it, otherwise, if you flip it "off" then "auto" it will wait 15 minutes or whatever till it turns on.

Hopefully that clarifies.
