So The tank I had was used. The trim was all scuffed up and it was kinda in rough shape. I was never fully happy with it. At first I thought i'll replace the trim but after checking around trim is expensive and hard to find. I found a place online that has it for $17 but the shipping is $17. Then I thought I could paint the trim. I looked it up and people have done so before. I was getting ready to give this a go when I noticed the trim had a big crack in it. At this point I figured I might as well take the trim off I have nothing to lose. I started on the bottom trim first. I got it off all right.

I decided to give the top trim a go. I could not get this off. Finally I got a corner free and started to work on another corner and then there was a pop
Part of the glass broke long story short I was able to talk my wife into letting me get a new tank which is what I really wanted in the first place. Hell she wants to get a 100 gallon but I don't want to start from scratch.

Awesome thread. BTW, you will be so happy you sprung for the new tank. The nice clean glass makes everything look so much better. (especially after all this hard work and time)

Got the inside box made

Drilled the tank. End up with a few small chips but nothing major.

Test fit. The box ended up a bit lower and off to the side more then I would have liked so I'll have to trim the rock a small amount. I'll probably add some more foam to take up the gaps as well.

Pick up another tank for the two part system and one as an overflow for the external skimmers cup.

Looks like Photobucket decided to charge money to be able to post pictures. What a load of BS. I'm not to pay for an account. I probably won't repost all those pictures as that would be a lot of work.

Was able to pick up some concrete blocks for my mixing station. I'm going to set the barrels on top of them.
