Blue Zoo Aquatics' Tank Raised Tangs
I have a question for those in the know.
Blue Zoo Aquatics is selling "[t]ank [r]aised" hippo tangs and yellow tangs. The caption provides that the fish "have been reared in captivity[.]" Are these fish, to the best of your knowledge, tank raised such that they are born and bred in captivity as opposed to wild caught? I have taken the vendor at its word but after a quick (and admittedly cursory) internet search, it appears that raising hippo tangs in captivity was a relatively recent milestone, which has led me to question things. Thanks, Rick |

My understanding is that they are not bred in captivity.

Raised in captivity is not the same as bred in captivity. Raised means they were acquired very early on and raised from then on.
