Pairing a Maroon Clown Question

I have a maroon clownfish thats about 2.5 inches now. Do you think I need to wait for it to get larger before trying to pair it with a small male maroon or is it large enough already?

Try to find one around .5/1 inch if possible. There will be signs of aggression but that is completely normal, especially with regards to maroons as they are one of the most if not the most aggressive clownfish. Best of luck!

The bigger the size difference the easier the pairing (IME). I prefer to add the larger to the smaller. If the larger is the established I take it out, let smaller establish and then put smaller in.

Ok, thanks, so far the one I have hasn't showed much signs of being territorial, lots of swimming room in the 4ft by 2ft tank its in but I guess that could change with a conspecific. I'll ask my LFS if they can get me a very small ~.5" gold nugget maroon. Thanks
