The third was supposed to be Mayan sun, I think The second was sent (purchased) as pe/event horizon but obviously it is not--it does have two inch mean stingers that it puts out at night. And it's still pretty cool looking The first is just a no-name chalice that continuously changes color from bright dark green to something else but the eyes are pretty |

Here are a few more pieces:
Another no namer, pretty red thing And if you look behind it then you will see my jason fox lantern which is happy in the shadows Another mummy eye but I just do not remember exactly what it is called I have a TEC watermelon but I don't know if it is this one--alas I have moved some of these around over time and lost track of which is which |

ok, a couple more and I'll go back to my sps for a while
Is this the tec watermelon?? Outrageous blue body this is called a cotton candy chalice. I have it in too much light which I kinda of like--the extra light is from my super cool new lights a no-namer that is more orangy than the picture and it gets a whitish rim which always makes me worry it is not well but that is just the way it grows My pink boobie colony and it is really huge. |

Indeed one of the most impressive set up out there.
Please update us on the sps. It would be really nice to compare the growth with the photos in the beginning of this thread. Great job !

A couple of changes going on with my tank. I changed the lighting, I changed power heads , I wanted to change out some acros for more interesting ones and I had one colony rtn after two years and another half rtn. The two colonies that went south on me, may have been responding to the light change, powerhead change or rise in phosphates, not really sure. But that was very disappointing I learned another lesson, do not try to remove esblished colonies and put frags in their place. It makes the tank look a little yucky. After everything was filling in pretty dense as well, I now have some bare spots. It's exciting placing new frags and hopefully very colorful ones, but the bald spots are hard to take. Well a couple more years and it will be all perfect once again
Vivid's tri color prostrate (a Monti was doing battle with it so its been beaten up a bit) Ult rainbow acro ( new lighting is making my color rendition off slightly but working it out) Tyree rouge Millie |

I am new to SPS so forgive me for the question I am about to ask.
How do so many people end up with the same colonies with names like Tyree xxx or Vivid xxx? Were they really all fragged from one coral at one time or do people determine that it looks like such and such and sell it like that? Watchguy; truely an amazing tank, sorry for what you had to go through to get to this. Nice pictures, you need to share your photography skills, I see several corals that I want to collect now! Great Photos.
Have have you noticed anything from the continuous fragging of your corals? Change in shape etc ? I would like to like to know what would be the best strategy to frag a coral. Thanks

Beautiful Tank I hope to have one like it one day.
Do you notice a slow down in growth with the 20K or are you still getting decent growth? I just changed to 20K from 14K and was wondering how much slower the growth will be. Also, did you start most of your colonies from frags or mini colonies? And Yes this should be a "Tank of the Month" candidate!! |
