Is my firefish dying?!!! Help!!

i just bought a firefish goby 30 minutes ago, he's on his side and and on the sand bed, but his breathing seemed to have calmed within the last few minutes.. is this normal or should i be highly concerned (which i already am!!!)

Looks like he is in shock. How did you acclimate the fish? Honestly, it's a 50/50 chance he will pull through. There's not much you can do for him at this point. Maybe just turn off the lights and leave him be and keep an eye on him.

drip acclimated him for about 5-8 minutes, he's gotten up and his breathing is okay now and he swims around for a few seconds and then goes back... i'll be keeping an eye on him tonight and tomorrow

Moving forward, acclimating for only 5-8 minutes isn't near enough. At LEAST 30 minutes since he is showing signs of progression, that's a great thing! Hopefully he will be alright and just use this as a learning lesson

update: he's doing okay now, i fed him and now he's swimming around. i think he'll be okay!!
