Setting up a 30-gal saltwater tank.
I currently have a 30 gallon fresh-water cichlid aquarium. Recently the cichlids have become too large for the aquarium and are becoming aggressive towards one another. Tomorrow I am taking them to the pet store (I don't want to flush them, but i certainly don't want to see them eat each other).
This will leave me with an empty 30 gallon aquarium. It has always been a dream of mine to have a saltwater tank. To be quite frank, however, I have no clue what to do, or even where to start. I have been reading around but everywhere i go there are a lot of technical terms I don't understand. I basically am looking for someone to give me the dummies version on starting this tank, what to do, step-by-step, and what I need. |

You can start by looking at some of the sticky posts. Then ask questions and don't rush things in the SW hobby. You don't want a dummies version their is many ways to skin a cat.

To Reef Central Your first step is to read all the stickies at the top of this forum. It will answer most of the basic questions.
