A friend, owner of a LFS, told me that I'm the only person capable of make that suharsonoi got this color under LED light (PS: he hates leds...lol) ..... About humilis, someone told me that my aculeus isn't an aculeus, as my echinata green thin isn't an echinata too.....and I believe it.... I'm terrible with acro identification so, as we say here in Brasil,"I sell the fish the same way I bought it." I have a lot of acros that have a wrong species identification. And I keep it that way....and fell bad about it....... That "humilis"......do you think that A. samoensis, applies better? I'm testing heavilly latelly.... I'm keeping my Alk between 7,9~8,5, for the past 3 months....really nice and stable and the corals are happy with it. The rest is: Ca - 430 K - 430 NO3 - 7ppm (raised from 0,2 ppm after a dose os Sodium nitrate) And this is basically what I'm testing right now. Thanks Matt! I was inspired that day......and got some really nice shots. Quote:

Alex, glad to see everything is still looking great, if not better every time you post. Have you taken any par numbers at all? I'd be interested to see what kind of par your corals are getting.

Not in this setup.... In my previous setup I borrowed a PAR meter from a friend and did take some measures but, honestly, I forgot the values..... I think that some corals are getting PAR at 400~500....and others in the 150~250 range....I didn't pay much attention to that. Alex

The best thing of having a large (and wide) tank is the possibility of a "3D layout"....

Alex, I am running out adjectives to describe how magnificent your tank looks. I think there is one thing missing in your tank though and that is a clam.
As for aiptasia, I would recommend a file fish. As you do not have fleshy corals, i.e. LPS, you should be OK.

It's a "weed coral" but I like it.....and since you keep it away from the rocks, it gives the tank a nice movement....

My previous Cooperband lived well for years without touch any of my clams. Clams and the CBB was in the "must have" list for this system so.....I'll give it a shot. I know that CBB are hit or miss when we talk about nipping. Let's see. I'm thinking about the peppermint shrimps but I have a yellow coris that is becoming really big. My previous one had the shrimps for dinner at some point.... For now I am giving vinegar shots in the bigger ones daily... It's a lot of work but it keeps the populations in check, until I got a more permanent solution. The filefish is an option, but it's an ugly option.... I'll keep it for the last case. If I give it a try, I can remove the acans....temporally or permanently, I don't know. Best regards, Alex

Looking good! That's one active Tang you have in there. He managed to sneak into almost every shot.

"Whaaat? Are you filming?????? Film me! Film me! Me! Over here!!!!!" Thanks Matt! I forgot to mention that this video was made 1 year and a half after the setup of the tank. No amaaaaaaaaazing grow rate, but it's ok. As I said in the very begining, I must have a REEF in 2 or 3 years from the start. At this rate, it should be true.
