I bought the AI Prime HD from my local fish store Studio Blue. Also got the mount there but ended up buying a different one that I like better.

Here's the BAD news. I am sad to report that I had one of my clowns jump from the tank last night. I am heartbroken...Spike (and Molly) were my first fish. Ugh. I have heard from many people that they have never had issues with fish jumping.

They always sleep near the top so I guess something scared him into jumping. Breaks my little heart.

Now I"m not sure what to do. Is Molly going to be ok? Should I get her another one? I would love to get one that is already hosting an anemone and add both to my tank but not sure if this is a good idea.

Any suggestions?

Oh no, that's so sad... I'm sorry to hear this. I lost my male too and was worried about my female as well. I bought a juvenile and they have been fine together over the last month. Just make sure he (will be a he) is much much smaller and they should eventually bond

As far as hosting, before you put the clown and the anemone in put the anemone in a bucket and place the clown right in the anemone and it should get all cozy

Just an update....

It's been awhile...so I figured it's a good time to update. Have had some new things added and sadly a few tragedies. So let's get the sad ones out of the way...

I lost my lawnmower blenny "Benny". I think he might have starved to death..I tried EVERYTHING but he always looked skinny. I tried Nori, garlic soaked, pellets, etc. He only liked the algae and did a great job. One day I found half of him in the clutches of 'Crusher', my too big emerald crab that is going back to the LFS as soon as I can catch him. He's HUGE.

A few corals that I lost...the purple gonipora that I had no business getting int he first place. I think it also killed the small torch and just recently the glorious pink goniopora that was doing sooooo GREAT in my tank for months.

My duncan has quadrupled in size....what was once a broken little frag is now a 4 headed colony and looking great.

My BTA which I thought was going to die because it turned white and basically hid for about a month after I had it for a month, has found a fantastic new 'home' and is looking all nice and pink/rose again. I am so happy. My one and only clown still has no clue or interest.

My one torch that I have had from the beginning that had 3 heads and then 2 head died, I kept it hoping the 1 head would recover. It sure did. It's huge and beautiful.

My newest guy is the "Bob" the Blue Spot Jawfish. I bought him about 6 weeks ago but couldn't bring him home because I took the hood off and have been waiting on a custom made one. Well I finally got it this weekend and Bob came home. I love him. I'll take some pics when he's settled in.

Everyone else is doing great. I love this tank. The algae is at a minimum and everything seems to be doing good/great (depending on the day).

Jen

Just read through your 19 pages of oats and love following it! You remind me of myself--excited about every little new development. I just started my 16g nano on July 22nd. No fish yet but I have a small CUC and I do have some polyps that hitchhiker in a live rock. It made it through the cycle and I've noticed a couple extra polyps.

Ugh. I don't have permission to edit my posts yet. Pages of "oats" should actually be pages of "posts"

Yes...it is all so exciting...I love to learn new things and this has been quite the journey. Best advice is go slow and steady..it will pay off in the end. Excited to see your progress.

I may just start a thread like yours. I started a blog but haven't done much with it. Will have to update soon.

Nice looking tank, but I see a whole lot of nuisance corals that will overtake the tank eventually. Good luck!

As far as jumpers go, I've lost 2 clowns, a flame angel, and of all things, my mandarin!

Fish do jump regardless of what people tell you. Take for instance the mandarin. I have never seen it anywhere but at the bottom of the tank, forgot to put the lid on one day for roughly 2 hours, came home to find a dried up mandy on the floor.

Fish can and will jump regardless of species.

So far nothing has taken over...the larger GSP is actually not even attached to the rock it's sitting on so I can move it anytime. The smaller one down below is spreading but it's growing very slow. The Kenya tree is also on a rock that I can easily remove and 'trim' so I think I'm pretty good there.

I do have a very cool acrylic lid with air holes now and it's working nicely (so far). The holes are too small for any fish to get through (I think). Time will tell.

Sorry about all of your jumpers. It's so sad to find them that way.
