Coral ID?
What kind of coral is this exactly, LFS said it was an acan sprouting a second head, but I don't think so.. I got it thrown in with some other stuff for a good price, any ideas??

I don't know about the sprouting a second head part, but it resembles a slightly deflated acan to me.

And that's the mouth in the center? When it was retracted it looked completely flat. So hopefully this should fluff back up right?

hopefully someone with more acan experience could chime in, if that is indeed what it is, but I would imagine that it would puff back up. Perhaps it stressed from the move, new lighting, flow? and that is definitely the mouth in the center.

Please post additional photo. I think it's a Acanthastrea echinata but it may be a bowerbanki but from that pic and that size I am not 100%. For certain, feed it! They grow much faster that way and it looks hungry. yes that's it's mouth and it should fluff when it photosynthesizes but it will open up to eat when the lights go out.

Awesome, thanks for the info, I'll take more pictures when I get home from work. It looked like this in the store so it's not from moving stress. This is the only other one I have for now.
