Bubble Magus Curve 5 not working properly
My bubble magus isn’t producing bubbles. The pump seems to run fine, and has for 5 months. I’ve cleaned it three times in five months and all of a sudden it’s stopped bubbling. I wish I could upload a video. It doesn’t look much different than the picture minus some sputtering from it trying to make bubbles. I’ve moved it into my refugium area as it’s bigger than my last and I’ve had to make some mods, but it was working perfectly fine. I’ve since put it back in its original spot (to the left of the refugium).
Please ask whatever questions necessary, I don’t know what else to include. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Check the venturi entry next to the pump.
Most likely clogged with salt. Clear it best with a drill bit, twisted by hand between your fingers. Start small & work your way up, OR just drill it, but carefully. Occasional cleaning with HOT water helps.

I’ve cleaned everything thoroughly and still a no go. It sputters like it wants to but still doesn’t bubble properly.

Pull the pump into a bucket & see if it works like it should.
Put a longer hose on the venturi & check that while you're at it.

Mine was doing the same thing a couple weeks ago, so I took it apart, cleaned it up (although it was pretty clean anyway), make sure the venture was clear (it was) and put it back together. Still no bubbles, so I pulled it out again, and wouldn't ya know - the little hole on top of the muffler was clogged with dust and crud. Not surprising I suppose - it sits all of 15' from my rather busy woodshop. Popped off the cap, rinsed it off and the thing runs like a champ!
